Most tools in this category are trackers that later bolted on some advice. AirOps came the other way round. It was a content-operations platform first — workflows, bulk generation, publishing into your CMS — and added AI search tracking on top of a machine that was already built to produce and refresh hundreds of pages. That inversion is the whole story of the product, and it decides whether AirOps is a bargain or the wrong shape entirely for what you need.

This review covers what AirOps does, what the free tier genuinely gets you, what the paid step costs (prices checked August 2026), and who should and should not buy it. Disclosure: we build a competing product, and the comparison section is labelled as such. Everything else comes from AirOps' published pricing and documentation, its funding announcements and public user reviews — we have not run AirOps on a paid plan.

TL;DR: AirOps has the most generous free AI-visibility tier in the category — 100 tracked prompts, no card, no expiry — but it only watches ChatGPT. Everything else, including Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Mode, sits behind a Pro plan whose price AirOps does not publish and independent trackers put near $2,000/mo. Buy it if you are a content team that will actually use the production half. If you only want to know where you stand across engines, you are paying platform prices for a dashboard.

What AirOps Is

AirOps (airops.com) describes itself as a growth platform for AI search and AEO, and it has two halves that are worth separating in your head.

The production half is the original product:

  • Workflows — chained, no-code automations that combine more than 40 AI models, your brand assets and integrations into repeatable content jobs.
  • Gridsa spreadsheet-style surface for running those workflows in bulk across hundreds of rows: create, refresh and optimise pages at scale, then publish to your CMS.
  • Brand Kita governed store of brand context (product lines, audiences, regions, tone, writing rules) that the workflows read from, and that is also exposed over MCP so Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT can use the same context.

The measurement half is Insights, which is what brings people to an AirOps review. It tracks five metrics — mention rate, share of voice, citation rate, sentiment and average position — across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews, and feeds the gaps it finds back into the production half as work.

AirOps raised a $40M Series B in November 2025 led by Greylock, at a reported $225M post-money valuation, and names Ramp, Chime, Wiz, Klaviyo, Webflow, Carta, Kayak and Rippling among its customers. That customer list tells you the intended buyer better than any feature table does.

AirOps Pricing (Checked August 2026)

This is the part worth reading slowly, because AirOps publishes a ladder with a hole in the middle of it. On airops.com/pricing there are three tiers, and only the first carries a number.

PlanPricePrompts / pages trackedEnginesTasksSeats
Solo$0/mo100ChatGPT only20,000
ProQuoted250ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Mode, AI Overviews75,000Unlimited
EnterpriseQuotedCustomAll, plus multi-regionCustomUnlimited

Pro adds weekly opportunity reports and unlimited seats. Enterprise adds unlimited Brand Kits and Knowledge Bases, multi-region tracking, custom agent builds, a dedicated account manager and 1:1 onboarding.

Three things follow from that table:

  1. The free tier is real, and it is the best free tracking in the category by volume. 100 prompts is more than Athena HQ's free tier and roughly four times what HubSpot's $50 add-on includes. No card, no fourteen-day clock.
  2. The free tier is ChatGPT only. If your buyers use Perplexity or you care about Google AI Overviews — and for most B2B categories AI Overviews is the larger surface — the free plan cannot see the half of the problem that matters.
  3. There is no published price for the step that fixes that. Independent pricing trackers consistently report Pro at around $2,000/mo with per-task overage billing, and a Solo paid tier around $200/mo that does not appear on the public page. We have not verified either figure with AirOps, and you should not budget against a third-party number — but you should know that the jump from "free" to "quoted" in this product is a large one, and ask for the task allowance and overage rate in writing before you sign.

On tasks. AirOps meters usage in tasks rather than seats or prompts, which is the right model for a production platform and a genuinely hard one to forecast before you have run a month through it. If you are evaluating AirOps, model your actual volume — pages refreshed, rows in a grid, models called per row — rather than reading 75,000 as a large number. It is large or small depending entirely on how you build your workflows.

How AirOps Works Day to Day

Setup starts with the Brand Kit rather than with prompts, which tells you where the product's centre of gravity is. You describe the business once — products, audiences, regions, tone, rules — and everything downstream reads from that.

Insights then runs your prompt set and reports the five metrics per engine, with the citation view showing which sources the answers drew from. Where AirOps diverges from every measurement-first tool is what happens next: a gap becomes an input to a workflow. A thin page that engines skip goes into a Grid with three hundred others and comes back rewritten against the Brand Kit, ready to review and publish. For a team whose bottleneck is production, that loop is the reason to be here.

The catch is that the loop takes building. Workflows are powerful and genuinely no-code, but they are also the kind of no-code that has iterators, conditions and multi-step logic in it. This is a tool you configure, not one you switch on.

What AirOps Does Well

The free tier is unusually honest. 100 prompts with no card is enough to answer "does ChatGPT know we exist" properly rather than as a teaser.

Production and measurement in one place. Almost every tool in this category stops at telling you what to fix. AirOps is the one that also does the fixing at volume, on the pages you own, with your brand rules applied.

Brand Kit as shared context. Governed brand context that your workflows and your team's own AI tools can read over MCP is a better answer to "how do we keep AI output on-brand" than a prompt library in a doc.

Well reviewed by the people who use it deeply. G2 puts AirOps at about 4.6 stars across more than 120 reviews, with consistent praise for workflow power and for the quality of AirOps' own training material and content-engineering cohorts.

Enterprise-credible. A Greylock-led Series B and a customer list of Ramp, Wiz and Klaviyo clears most procurement conversations.

Where AirOps Stops

Multi-engine costs a sales call. The published ladder is $0, then "talk to us". For a buyer comparing five tools with public pricing, that is friction, and for a small team it is usually a dead end.

Task billing is hard to predict. The flip side of a flexible production platform: your invoice depends on how you built your workflows, not on a seat count. Teams overshooting an allowance is the most common complaint in independent write-ups.

There is a learning curve, and reviewers say so. The same G2 reviews that praise the workflows note that going deep means iterators, logic and multi-step automations. Budget onboarding time; the free tier is the place to spend it.

No Claude coverage. The engine list is ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews. If Claude matters to your category, it is not here.

The action layer is still your own pages. AirOps produces and refreshes content you publish. It does not tell you which third-party roundup ChatGPT cites instead of you, who wrote it, or how to get on it. That gap is larger than it sounds: Ahrefs' study of 75,000 brands found branded web mentions correlate about three times more strongly with AI visibility than backlinks do, and a large share of ChatGPT citations land on "best of" list pages — pages you do not own and cannot regenerate in a Grid.

AirOps vs Sightivo

We make Sightivo, so weigh this section accordingly.

The honest summary: AirOps is the better machine for making your own pages, at a scale we do not attempt. Sightivo works the other half — the pages on other people's sites that AI quotes when it answers for your category. If your problem is that you cannot publish fast enough, AirOps is built for that. If your problem is that the roundup ChatGPT cites has nine competitors and not you, a content factory will not fix it.

AirOps Alternatives

The short version: Otterly AI at $29/mo if you only need the numbers; HubSpot AEO at $50/mo for the cheapest published multi-engine tracking, especially if you already run HubSpot — see our HubSpot AEO review; Athena HQ for a free multi-engine tier rather than a free single-engine one; Profound if you were shopping AirOps for enterprise depth and want a measurement specialist instead — see our Profound review; Scrunch AI for persona-modelled prompts and page audits, in our Scrunch AI review; Sightivo if you want the off-site gaps acted on. All of them compared on price, engines and what they do with the data in best AEO tools and best GEO tools.

When AirOps Is the Right Choice

  • You are a content or growth team that publishes at volume and your bottleneck is production, not knowing what to produce.
  • You have a CMS worth integrating with and hundreds of pages that need refreshing against a consistent brand standard.
  • You have someone technical enough to enjoy building workflows, and time to spend on the free tier first.
  • You want governed brand context that your own AI tools can read, not just the vendor's.
  • You want to start free with a hundred real ChatGPT prompts before spending anything.

When to Look Elsewhere

  • You only want tracking. Paying platform prices for the dashboard half is the most expensive way to buy this category.
  • You need a published price, or your budget will not survive a quoted one.
  • You need Claude in the engine list.
  • You need predictable billing more than you need flexibility.
  • The thing standing between you and a citation is a page on somebody else's site.

Common Questions

How much does AirOps cost?

AirOps Solo is free — $0/mo with 100 tracked prompts or pages, ChatGPT only, and 20,000 tasks. Pro and Enterprise are quoted rather than published: Pro includes 250 prompts or pages, multi-engine tracking, 75,000 tasks and unlimited seats. Independent pricing trackers report Pro at around $2,000/mo with per-task overage, but AirOps does not publish that figure and we have not verified it. Prices checked August 2026.

Does AirOps have a free plan?

Yes, and it is a real one. The Solo plan is $0/mo with no card required and tracks 100 prompts or pages, plus 20,000 workflow tasks. The limitation is engine coverage: the free tier watches ChatGPT only. Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews require Pro.

What engines does AirOps track?

ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews on the Pro plan; ChatGPT alone on the free Solo plan. Claude is not on the list. AirOps reports mention rate, share of voice, citation rate, sentiment and average position for each.

AirOps vs Profound: which is better?

They are different products aimed at the same budget. Profound is a measurement specialist with deeper citation analysis and prompt-volume research; AirOps measures a similar surface less deeply and then gives you a production platform to act on it. If you have writers waiting for direction, Profound. If you have a publishing queue and not enough hands, AirOps. Neither does the off-site half.

Is AirOps an AI visibility tool or a content tool?

Both, but it was a content-operations platform first and the tracking was added on top. That order matters when you are pricing it: you are buying a production platform that includes visibility tracking, not a tracker that includes some content help.

What does AirOps not do?

It does not identify the third-party pages AI engines cite where you are missing, find the people who write them, or run outreach. Its action layer is generating and refreshing pages you own. It also does not track Claude, and it does not publish a price for multi-engine tracking.

Can agencies use AirOps?

Yes, but at Enterprise, where unlimited Brand Kits and multi-region tracking live. Agencies on a budget usually look at Peec AI for unlimited seats, SE Ranking for white-label reporting, or Sightivo Studio for 10 projects — the options are compared in AI visibility tools for agencies.

Key Takeaways

  • AirOps is a content-operations platform with AI search tracking added on top, not a tracker that grew a content feature. Price it as the former.
  • The free Solo tier is the most generous in the category by prompt volume — 100 prompts, no card — but it watches ChatGPT and nothing else.
  • Multi-engine tracking means Pro, which AirOps does not publish a price for; independent trackers put it near $2,000/mo with per-task overage.
  • G2 reviewers rate it about 4.6 across more than 120 reviews, praising workflow power and training, and flagging the learning curve and the cost.
  • Its action layer regenerates pages you own. The citations you are missing usually live on pages you do not.
